Summary

Rudi Education is a program dedicated to providing quality education to children in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), one of the poorest countries in the world. Founded in 2011 by Alain Makengo, a Congolese native and entrepreneur, Rudi Education started with a simple goal: to pay school fees for a few children who could not afford to go to school. But as word of the program spread, the need became apparent, and the program grew to include more students and a wider range of services.

Today, Rudi Education serves hundreds of children in the DRC and is supported by a network of donors and volunteers around the world. Our mission is to ensure that every child in the DRC has access to quality education, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

At Rudi Education, we believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future for generations to come. Our program provides essential resources such as textbooks, school supplies, and teacher training, as well as support for community outreach programs and after-school activities. By investing in our program, you can help us make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families in the DRC.

Join us in our mission to create a better future for the children of the DRC. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact. Together, we can bring hope and education to the children of the DRC and create a brighter future for all.

Year One

The Rudi Education program was launched in the 2012-2013 school year with a bold mission: to empower underprivileged children with the education they deserve. That year, we took the first step towards our goal by sponsoring 16 bright young minds. While most of these students attended schools in rural areas, one brave girl was chosen to attend an urban school. Her unique situation allowed us to gauge the impact of our program in a more diverse environment. We selected her specifically because, despite living in a bustling city, her family faced similar challenges to those we encountered in rural areas.

At the end of the year, we celebrated a remarkable achievement. All 15 students passed their classes with flying colors, except for the girl who studied in the city. She had a tough time adapting to her new school, and her grades were not up to par. But we did not give up on her. Instead, we collaborated with her sponsor to give her a second chance at success. We believe in our students and their potential to excel. That’s why, from then on, we introduced a new rule: if a student failed their class, we would consult with their sponsor to see if they would be willing to continue supporting the student for another year. We are committed to ensuring that every child in our program receives the education they deserve, and we will stop at nothing to make that happen.

Year Two

The second year of the Rudi Education program, which began in September 2013, was marked by even greater success than the previous year. Our goal to double the number of children supported through the program was achieved, thanks to the continued support of our partners and sponsors. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to our vision of empowering underprivileged children with quality education.

With the additional support, we were able to provide more children with access to education and better opportunities for their future. We are proud to say that all the children we sponsored that year passed their classes, demonstrating the effectiveness of our program. This achievement has inspired us to work even harder and expand our reach to more children in need.

Looking back on the second year of the program, we are filled with hope and gratitude. We are immensely grateful to our partners and sponsors for their unwavering support and to the children themselves for their dedication and hard work. As we continue to move forward, we remain committed to providing quality education to underprivileged children and creating a brighter future for Africa.

Year Three

Year three of the Rudi Education program, which ran from September 2014 to June 2015, was an incredible success. With the support of our partners and sponsors, we were able to sponsor 70 young students and help them achieve remarkable success in their studies. We are deeply grateful to all of you who have contributed to our mission and made this possible.

The success of year three was due in part to the incredible support we received from our partners and sponsors from around the world. Individuals and organizations from America, Europe, and Africa joined us in our mission, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and resources that helped us make an even greater impact on the lives of the children we serve. We are proud to have such amazing partners in this journey and feel truly blessed to be part of such a dedicated and compassionate community.

In addition to the support of our partners and sponsors, we also witnessed the unwavering dedication and hard work of the children themselves. Despite facing various challenges, they showed tremendous resilience and achieved remarkable success in their studies. Their success is a testament to the power of education to transform lives and communities. Looking back on year three of the program, we are filled with gratitude and hope for the future. We remain committed to our mission of empowering underprivileged children with quality education and creating a brighter future for Africa.

Year Four

As we entered the fourth year of Rudi Education in the 2015-2016 school year, we did so with great hope and expectation. We had already weathered some difficult times in the past, including a near loss of all our students during a rebel takeover of the city where our headquarters are located. However, with the help of our supporters and volunteers, we were able to regain contact with the school authorities and ensure the safety of our children.

During this year, we also faced the heartbreaking situation of one of our students losing both of her parents within a year. Despite the challenges, we were able to continue supporting her education and provide hope for a brighter future. We are grateful to God for providing for her through our sponsors, and we hold onto the promise of Psalm 68:5 that God is a father to the fatherless and defender of widows. As we look back on this year, we are thankful for the continued support of our donors and the impact we have been able to make in the lives of so many children. The program has continued for several more years, thanks to the dedication of our team and the generosity of our supporters.
