The ongoing armed conflicts in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo have left an indelible mark on the country’s education system, exacerbating poverty and forcing numerous children to abandon their studies. Additionally, the lack of access to reading materials and educational resources has hindered intellectual development and stifled the aspirations of many young learners.

Despite these obstacles, the Rudi Education program has remained a beacon of hope, offering comprehensive support to students and their families. Our dedicated team has tirelessly worked to provide financial assistance, establish reading clubs, and foster a culture of lifelong learning within the community.

“Our school is but a name. We lack a library, a computer lab, and we receive many displaced children struggling to pay fees. It’s a relief to have Rudi International as a partner. With their reading clubs and scholarships for underprivileged students, the once-uncertain future of these beneficiary children is now assured.” – Principal of the Institut Saint Pierre.

Fidèle, a 3rd-year student at Groupe Scolaire Saint André and a member of the reading club, shared:

“Rudi is like my second family. Every Tuesday and Thursday after school, I visit the library to learn more, and since I started frequenting this library, my teachers appreciate me more and more.”

The parent of student Salama, Rudi Education scholarship recipient 2024 also testified:

“After an accident, I lost 65% of my physical abilities, and I had to continue supporting the education of all my children. Some had to drop out, but thanks to the Rudi Education program, my daughter SALAMA can study correctly without interruption at the [Institut des Techniques Médicales] ITM MONGERA. This opportunity offered to her by Rudi International brings her closer, little by little, to her dream of becoming a nurse. May God bless you a hundredfold.”

We still face a fundraising gap of just under $2,500 to successfully close out the 2023-2024 academic year in Goma, DRC.
